MM2S003: Season 1, Episode 3
By: Ken Boone I decided to break from my, for now, typical politically leaning show to talk briefly about one the most important dates on the calendar. Or at least it was before… Thanksgiving Day! And to that end, I’d like to ask you one question – So, What Are You Thankful For? I was just in Publix picking up a few necessities, when I ran across the deli section. Since my wife is a lifelong vegetarian, I have to buy my meats in the smallest quantities possible. I also have to religiously check the label for milligrams of sodium per serving. While that may seem like a drag, or even boring to you, it’s life-sustaining to me. It also takes my mind back to last year, when I was still recovering from my health scare. Then, I was thankful to be able to walk up a flight of stairs without feeling like passing out. Today, I can do that and a helluva lot more. For that I’m grateful! While on the subject, these are just a few more of the things that I’m thankful for:
I plan on staying in this holiday. I don’t want to piss off Dr. V. That seems to be my M.O. nowadays. I’m planning a low sodium, yet highly tasty meal. I may even splurge and throw in a slab of cake, or pie, or both. I may record a podcast, or maybe even some music. A lot of people are going to hit the road to spend Thanksgiving with family, friends, and loved ones. I’m not going to use this time render an opinion. I will just say to use your better judgment, call on your better angels, and just please be safe! Today's Quote: “A Zoom Thanksgiving is better than an ICU Christmas.” Dr. Tom Frieden, Former Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

MM2S002: Season 1, Episode 2
By: Ken Boone Now that a winner has been I declared and we're beginning the middle of the election post-mortem analysis, let me say something that may sound a bit odd: “I think things happened just as they should have.” What did we win?
What did we lose?
In the meantime, there are over 10 million Coronavirus cases and over 240 thousand deaths reported just in the United States. The nation is still divided. We still don't listen to each other. Our friends on the other side still haven't discovered that their fearless leader is really a con artist. Even after declaring COVID a pandemic, in the closing days of the campaign, he:
Guess what, my friends? He's not going to pay your legal expenses if you get arrested! So, who voted for the other guy? Are all 70 million of them racists? Of coursse not! A lot of the are really good people, trying to do the next right thing. I have family who voted for him. I don't think they are bigots. They are just driven by fear, making them easy prey to disinformation campaigns. Some of the comments I read on social media posted by folks on the other side refer to people getting “free stuff”. What in the hell are they talking about? It is true that spending on social programs increases under a typical Democratic administration, but let me ask the complainers a few questions:
I've been checking out my Facebook New Feed, and I've noticed that the tone of the posts is mostly celebratory. Not as much gloating as the other guys did back in 2016. This election was also a victory of sorts for the Republicans. There was no Blue Wave. No Senate flip (at least not yet). Seat gains in the House of Representatives. Then the necessary finger-pointed, followed by collective soul-searching. Well, my friends, it seems as though we have a lot more work to do before we can get back to the good fight against worthy opponents. So now is a good time for all of us to take a deep breath, turn down the temperature, and get our respective houses in order. The pendulum is always swinging and will at some point in time swing back to the Madisonian Model of Government. I just hope we don't get there too late.
